1970s Ranch
Haygood Point

This project transformed an underutilized sunroom into a functional and inviting extension of the home. Originally built as an addition, the space was dominated by a large in-floor jacuzzi and its surrounding equipment, limiting how the homeowners could use the room. The goal was to remove these obstacles and create a clean, usable space that better supported everyday living.

The renovation began with the complete removal of the jacuzzi and all associated systems. Once the tub was taken out, the existing floor structure was rebuilt, including new floor joists, to correct uneven areas and restore structural integrity. This foundational work was essential to creating a level, stable surface for the next phases of the project.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was transforming a sunroom built around a large, in-floor jacuzzi into a functional living space.

Removing the tub required rebuilding the floor structure and correcting uneven framing so the room could support a finished, tiled floor.

The Process

The Result

With the structure corrected, a new subfloor was installed and prepared with an uncoupling membrane, allowing the space to be properly tiled. Additional drywall repairs were completed, along with finish carpentry, to ensure the room felt cohesive and well-finished from wall to wall.

The result is a refreshed sunroom that feels open, practical, and ready for daily use. After construction was completed, the homeowner painted the space, putting the final personal touch on a room that now seamlessly integrates with the rest of the home.
