1980s Townhouse
Thoroughgood
This renovation marked a major milestone—Daniela and Tony’s first home and their first full renovation—making every design decision deeply personal and intentional. The goal was to transform a dated house into a spaces that feel cohesive, functional, and thoughtfully designed for everyday living. Each remodeled area was approached with the goal of maximizing impact while honoring the home’s existing footprint.
The result is a townhouse that feels intentional, personalized, and highly functional—where craftsmanship and thoughtful design choices work together to create spaces that truly support how the homeowners live.
Dining Room
In the dining room, a custom light fixture and pallet wall—both handcrafted by Tony—set the tone for the home’s layered, personal style. Throughout the townhouse, gallery walls curated by Daniela add character and continuity, while small but meaningful design decisions elevate each space.
Staircase
During the downstairs remodel, unused space beneath the stairs was transformed into a compact work area, proving that even the smallest spaces can deliver big design moments.
The staircase received a complete refresh, with carpet removed, sanded, painted, and finished with tailored runners. Wainscoting now runs the full length of the wall from the front door up to the primary bedroom, creating visual flow.
Landing
While a taller, deep-green wainscoting on the opposite landing wall adds contrast and drama. A neon sign crowns the space, serving as a daily reminder to stay inspired.
Guest Room
Upstairs, the guest room was given a major facelift, featuring a custom Murphy bed built by Tony and a refinished buffet that adds both charm and function.
Office
The office began as four blank walls and was transformed into a true multi-purpose space—designed to serve as an office, guest room, art studio, and craft storage.
Custom flooring, built-in storage, open shelving, brick accents, and a handcrafted maple desk bring the room together. The layout allows flexibility for future owners while meeting the current needs of creative daily life.
Main Bedroom
We transformed our main bedroom into a space that balances luxury, functionality, and natural light. The room itself was generously sized, but the original closet was small and underwhelming—so the design focused on creating a practical, elegant solution without compromising the bedroom’s openness.
Inspired by a neighbor’s clever layout, a partial wall was introduced to define the new closet space while allowing light to flow freely from the window into both the bedroom and closet. Within this newly carved area, a custom “hers” closet was created with thoughtfully designed shelving, integrated lighting, and built-in shoe storage, handcrafted by Tony to accommodate an extensive collection.
The original master closet, remodeled a few years prior, was preserved and repurposed as a “his” closet, completing the dual-closet setup. The result is a master suite that feels intentional, organized, and bright—demonstrating how careful spatial planning can elevate both style and function.
