The Preserves in Great Bridge
This kitchen refresh focused on making the space feel more open, welcoming, and connected to the rest of the home—without the need for a full layout overhaul. Subtle but impactful changes improved sightlines and flow, instantly making the kitchen feel larger and more inviting the moment you step inside.
Custom craftsmanship elevates the entire space, from the tailored crown molding that gives the cabinets a finished, architectural feel to the clean-lined floating shelves that add warmth and balance.
The Challenge
The original kitchen felt closed-off and dated, with a cramped entry, visual barriers (a wall oven, window divider, and narrow doorway), an inefficient layout that limited openness, light, and flow into the space.
Storage and cabinet presence didn’t fully utilize the breakfast nook or vertical space, and the kitchen wasn’t set up for a gas range—overall, it lacked the open, connected feel the homeowner wanted.
The Result
By opening up key areas and widening the main entry, the kitchen now feels seamlessly connected to the surrounding spaces, allowing light and movement to travel freely throughout the home. The cabinetry was thoughtfully extended into the breakfast nook, creating a more intentional, built-in look while maximizing storage and functionality.
The result is a kitchen that feels refreshed, cohesive, and timeless—proof that even modest layout changes, when done thoughtfully, can dramatically transform how a home feels and functions.
